Obituary

It is with deep sadness to announce the passing of my loving husband, Timothy Burgess on May 19, 2022 at home in Mesa, AZ. After being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and undergoing many radiation treatments, we were given the shocking news that the cancer had metastasized to his liver.  We all were crushed by this news, but he stayed strong the entire time and continued working everyday in a job he loved and the people he worked with.

Tim was born to Albert Burgess and Virginia Burgess (nee Barnes) in Laurens, S.C. and was 74 years old at the time of his passing. Tim leaves behind his loving wife and best friend, Dale, of 51 years, our daughter Megan, son-in-law Michael and grandchildren, Ciara, Rebecca and Marilyn Rose. He also leaves behind his sister Jackie who resides in S.C.; his older brother Richard preceded him in death. On May 23, 2022 our great-granddaughter, Novalyn Faith, came into the world born to her parents Rebecca & Braeden.  Her family will make sure she will learn all about her Great Papaw through many photos and funny stories. It was unfortunate that he didn’t get to meet her.

Tim loved sports and his favorite teams were the Clemson Tigers, Phoenix Suns and Arizona Cardinals. He particularly loved fishing, boating and camping (in a cabin) and always had wonderful adventures to talk about. After high school, Tim joined the Navy and during that time he was an aviation electrician working on the aircraft that returned from Viet Nam. Shortly after being discharged, we met and the rest is history. Outside sales was the perfect occupation for him since he had a wonderful personality and everyone liked him, he was good at what he did! The world needs more people like Tim.

There will be no graveside services, but we will plan a memorial service in the near future. If anyone would like to donate to the American Cancer Society or your favorite animal rescue it would be much appreciated.  We miss him terribly.
