Obituary

Winona Mayo died peacefully around those she loved on Oct 29th, 2021. She was born in Arkansas Oct 26th, 1935 and was the oldest of 9 children. The family moved to Arizona in the early 40’s. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Dub, daughter Sherri, 2 grandchildren (Stephen and an infant girl) her parents and 2 sisters. Survived by daughter Trisha & Dennis, 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 7 sisters & brothers along with many nieces, nephews and friends. She was a stay at home mom when girls were young then went on to work for a short time at Talley Defense, day care and some volunteer work. In recent months Winona didn’t get out much so her excitement came from weekly hair appointments, eating Pizza or Taco Bell and watching Grit TV which made us all laugh and everyone that knew her will remember her contagious laugh The funeral will be Friday, November 19th, 10:30am, graveside at Mesa Cemetery with a reception to follow at the Mesa home she and Dub have owned for over 52 years
