Obituary

Geraldine Blackburn, 79, of Clear Creek Canyon, Utah passed away on June 13, 2017 in Mesa, AZ.

The memorial service will be held on June 30, 2017 at 10am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 5620 E Adobe Rd. Mesa, AZ 85205.

Geraldine was born on September 11, 1938 to the parents of Gail and Wanda Taylor of Monroe, Utah. Geraldine married Willis M. Day on February 7, 1959. These two had four children together, Martin, Yolanda, Howard, and Virginia. Geraldine was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother whom worked all of her life to provide her loved ones with comfort and happiness. Geraldine was a force to be reckoned with on the softball field, and enjoyed playing sports with her children. Geraldine’s faith was significant to her. Geraldine was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Geraldine enjoyed researching and gaining knowing on her genealogy. Geraldine spent countless hours gathering information on her past and current family members to build bonds and learn the personal story of her family.

Geraldine is preceded in death by her late husband, Willis M. Day, her sons, Martin Day and Alan Ivy, her mother and father, Gail and Wanda Taylor, and her three sisters Gaylene Peterson, Rosalie Gleave, and Bennith Oldroyd.

Geraldine is survived by her three children, Yolanda (Phil) Gallegos of Mesa, AZ, Howard (Kayla) Day of Mesa, AZ, and Virginia (Irvin) Gallegos of Mesa, AZ, four brothers, Rex, Gail, Joseph, and Wesley, and three sisters, Wanda, Kathy and Terrill. Geraldine is also survived by her 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
